View from the cycleway through one of the occasional gaps in the trees. The river is infested with giant hogweed, Heracleum mantegazzianum, a notorious invasive with a sap that causes severe burns in ultraviolet light. The plant is a controlled weed, and to allow its cultivation is an offence. Sadly little attempt is being made here to control its growth.
