The canal between Bridge No. 9 (from which this picture was taken) and Bridge No. 8 (Harelane Bridge) is somewhat unusual in that it has a public footpath running on both sides. In this picture the towpath can be clearly seen on the right bank, while the other footpath, which is no so well maintained, is on the left bank. The ornate bridge in the distance (No. 8a) was built to provide a more appropriate approach to Halton House. See Image
