The crop growing in this field is barley. The trees seen at left separate it from a crop of wheat which is adjoining on the other side > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1349412. Dog roses are flowering in profusion in the hedgerow. This view was taken on private farmland, accessed by kind permission of the landowner.
