Taken on the day of celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the railway opening at Petersfield. In the afternoon the number of people at the station gets back to normal as a Portsmouth to London Waterloo train arrives at the up platform. To the right there used to be a third platform, used latterly as a freight siding but removed in the 1970s. In the distance in Image is Butser Hill, the highest point in the South Downs (but not the highest in Hampshire).
