Na Gearranan (Garenin) was a living village until 1974, when the last residents moved out into council houses. It has been restored, more or less sympathetically apart from windows in some of the thatched roofs. The house at extreme left is the museum, which is set out as it would have been in the mid-20th century. The nearest house on the right is now a hostel; when I visited in 1970 I was invited into this house for a cup of tea by the lady who lived in it.
