The Blackpool 75th anniversary celebrations were dampened somewhat by the news that Blackpool's last three 'street' tram routes were going to be converted to bus operation as follows: Squires Gate via Lytham Road, end of 1960 season; Marton Circular, end of 1961 season; and North Station, end of 1962 season. Here is English Electric railcoach No 204 at Squires Gate terminus on one of the last journeys there by tram.
