Almost a 'Garden Suburb', this large housing estate was largely built in the 1950's to house workers at the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment just to the north in Aldermaston (Berkshire). The houses were well laid out with plenty of open land and trees. This view is looking south from the telephone kiosk at the junction of Harsthill Road (on the right) and Huntsmoor Road.
