This dignified building was the Bridge Hotel, owned by the Bentley and Shaw Brewery, Lockwood, Huddersfield. The area behind was the Ledgard Bridge Colliery in 1850. There is a large arch built into the end wall at a low level (just above the waste bin), which is hard to explain as it is alongside a ground-floor room. There were cottages to the right of the building.
