The design, by artist Rachel Fenner, is partly based on the Link Stone, an ancient piece of rock in St Mathias' Churchyard. It was unveiled on Saturday 19th August 2000 by Malvern Link councillor Pat Raven, the chairman of Malvern Hills District Council. The area includes a seating area with mosaic paving and cost £34,000 in total
