The photograph was taken from the street opposite, called The Armoury, which according to the plaque on the wall, was: House of the Poor Site of the Parish Poor House, enlarged in 1788, rebuilt in 1839 to hold 100 people on the formation of the Drayton Poor Law Union. Closed in 1854 after a cholera outbreak. Later used as an armoury.
