These are typical mill workers' houses for those employed in the linen trade. This village provided a wealth of characters and some major players in the world of sport and academics. On the sporting side the Belfast born George Best is well known world wide but it would be remiss not to tell you that his captain in that Northern Ireland team was born in that house second from the left. His name was Allan Hunter,a centre-half, capped many times for his country and an FA medal winner at Wembley when playing for Ipswich. Also born here was his brother, Victor Hunter an International goalkeeper who took over the Northern Ireland goals from the legendary Harry Gregg.
