Churchyard Holne

The churchyard of St Mary the Virgin has several ancient yews, one of which is completely hollow and has had its crown removed in order to help preserve it. The church is 13th century and is where Charles Kingsley the historian and novelist, who was the son of the vicar of Holne, was baptised in 1819.
