Built in 1880 as part of the Polegate-Tunbridge railway better known as the Cuckoo Line and closed with the rest of the line in 1968. It re-opened in 2001 for pedestrian access to the newly opened Millennium Green though was closed to the public for a few years after an attempted rape. It re-opened again in 2007. The gates were designed by children from local schools in conjunction with Sussex sculptor Hamish Black.
