Miller Mausoleum, Craigentinny Crescent

The mausoleum was completed in 1856 as the tomb of William Henry Miller MP, owner of Craigentinny House, who died in 1848. Designed by David Rhind in the style of a tombstone on the ancient Appian Way, south of Rome, it has become popularly known as "the Craigentinny Marbles" because of its elaborately sculpted panels depicting scenes from the Bible. http://planetedinburgh.wordpress.com/2012/05/09/hidden-edinburgh-the-craigentinny-marbles/ Image
