The flood plain of the Mersey between Manchester and Warrington is a low lying plain once covered in peat bog. The area is nearly all drained now, and the peaty soils used for growing vegetables. Part of this square, north of the railway is a nature reserve, this shot shows the road to and fields of Prospect Farm.
