The workhouse chapel > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1309602 was built by the architect Richard Phipson in 1868, for the use of the workhouse inmates. Before then services were held in the main hall of the workhouse > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1309504. The chapel is built from flint and brick and has an octagonal apse at its east end. Besides being part of the museum the building is presently used for concerts and other functions.
