After some 50 years of meeting at Melin Rhos and the Woollen Factory, the Calvinists built a small chapel here at the road junction in 1850. This was replaced by the present building in 1902 at a cost of £502-17s-6d. A chapel house with an upstairs vestry was added in 1914. The house was sold in the 1960s and the chapel was closed in 1985 and sold for conversion into a dwelling.
