The crossing point of the High Street, the B2116, and one of the many late 18th century London-Brighton turnpikes, this one built to connect what is now the A23(T) with Cuckfield where it was joined by other routes heading north. The southern part is Brighton Road, the B2117, whilst to the north of the roundabout is Cuckfield Road, a new road constructed in the early 19th century that runs through Goddards Green and Ansty.
