The Gypsey Race is an intermittent stream which essentially flows west along the chalk of the Yorkshire Wolds and reaches the sea in the town of Bridlington. Various theories relate to the nature of the stream, and it has entered the legends of this area. See http://www.northernearth.co.uk/permgypsey.htm for a web page relating to this feature which is located a few metres north of the southern edge of the gridsquare.
