A project to return this ice-carved valley in the Southern Uplands to the wild forest that it once was, before modern man and the sheep arrived. The Borders Forest Trust bought the 650 ha of the Carrifran Valley in 2000, and the process of restoration continues. For more information see http://www.carrifran.org.uk.
