View from kissing gate at Lansdowne Road looking east along the line of the Roman Road (Watling Street), which mostly approximates to the line of the A51 trunk road. Here, however, the modern road veers SE and the Roman Road is now represented by Tarvin footpath 1, which follows the hedge line on the left across sheep pasture. In the distance the land rises up to Kelsall Hill.
