Essex Wildlife Trust use some sophisticated mowing equipment in this reserve! The Longhorn Cattle are able to crop the grass in the way it's been done hundreds of years thus preserving the increasingly rare habitat of unimproved grassland (an oxymoron if ever there was one) do you ever see Image on improved pasture? Hitchocks and Dell Meadows are leased by the Trust see http://www.essexwt.org.uk/visitor_centres__nature_reserves/danbury_ridge/ for more information on the reserve.
