Chiswell Green: Park Wood

Image: © Nigel Cox Taken: 29 Apr 2009

Very unusually for Hertfordshire, Park Wood mainly comprises a stand of coniferous trees with deciduous trees around its edges. When the Image was built in 1959 it cut through the northern end of the wood leaving an outlying section on the northern side of the motorway. The blue sheen in the foreground is created by a wealth of bluebells.
