Perivale Wood is ancient woodland maintained as a memorial to the naturalist Gilbert White by the Selborne Society http://www.selbornesociety.org.uk . It is open to the public one day a year when bluebells are in bloom; this used to be the first Sunday in May but has been brought forward a week as the flowers bloom earlier because of global warming.
