Cross Hall near St Neots

Before 1800 Cross Hall was a hamlet on a cross roads of the Great North road and the Kimbolton road. A pub and a farm house were the only buildings on this Junction. As the Great north road became more important for travel so the cross roads spawned development with houses and services to cater for the passing trade. The Great North Road was realigned as a bypass, opened in 1971 allowing greater development potential of Eaton Ford and Eaton Socon. Cross Hall now has a new identity with this latest housing scheme.
