One of the lodges to Mamhead House. "Eccentrically picturesque ... the most inventive and least altered of the Mamhead House lodges" http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=85950&mode=adv "presumably contemporary with Mamhead House, 1828-1833 ... octagonal first floor on brackets with pendants has a thatched roof with a finial and oversails the ground floor." on a right-angled bend in the lane east of Mamhead Grange.
