On little green in front of local library and near a small village carpark and a few shops. A229 High Street on right. Has small metal sign on post. Which reads 'This sign was commissioned by STAPLEHURST WOMEN'S INSTITUTE to commemorate promotion year 1984. The project was made possible by donations from villagers, tradesmen and local industry. Designer David Coveney. Craftsman Bernard Hill, Gordon Gracie. Unveiled by Mrs Anne Harris Chairman National Federation of Woman's Institutes 11th May 1985'.
