Inscribed 'New Mill Urban District Council', which was created in 1895 from Fulstone, Hepworth and Scholes urban districts (these had each been formed in 1894). In 1938 it was absorbed by Holmfirth UD. I have been informed that the building was used as a clinic in the early 1950s, and it now appears to be a house.
