High rise tower blocks are relatively rare in Edinburgh and about to become even more so. These are Allermuir and Caerketton Courts in Oxgangs, beside the Braid Burn. Until April 2005 there was a third block, Capelaw, but that was demolished by explosives. These two are set to face the same fate, and one is already abandoned.
