The Overshot Waterwheel of the Watermill at Ford End, Ivinghoe

The overshot wheel has a cast iron axle and spokes and is 11 feet in diameter and five feet wide. Because the wheel is not in continuous use the 30 oak buckets only had a short life (due to repeatedly getting wet and then drying out) and have been replaced with metal buckets.
