Etap Hotels are very common in France and Germany and in a number of other countries. In recent years they have been expanding in the UK. Their Sheffield hotel opened in 2007. The hotels are very basic and usually they are located in industrial areas and/or in areas that have seen better days. Because of this the rooms are incredibly cheap. The Sheffield Etap does have the advantage of being near to Sheffield Arena and other new facilities in the area.
