All that remains above ground of Priory House, right, and the modern record office, left. The Priory was originally a Tudor house built on the site of a 12th century priory, which was dismantled in the 1920s and re-erected in Richmond, Virginia. Priory Park is what remains of the grounds of Priory House. It is managed for conservation and quiet enjoyment. The park is notable for its trees, old and young, native and exotic. There are areas of unimproved grassland, relict orchard trees and a stream, St John's Brook.
