There is little of anything but farming activity in this area but it is of note that the cottages, the roofs of which can just be seen on the horizon were once overlooked by the aerials of a navigation station. These are all that remain of the station located here until 2000. One of them retains, or at least still displays, the name 'Decca', after the Decca Navigation System (DNS) that was based here. The aerials, still shown on some maps and internet aerial images, were removed on its closure. I am grateful to Peter Facey who provided me with leads to more information on the system and this link http://www.jproc.ca/hyperbolic/decca.html.
