Sir George White plaque near Broughshane

Sir George White was awarded the VC for his heroism in the Battle of Charasia in India in 1879. He was knighted in 1886 for his military service in Burma. In the Anglo-Boer War he defended Ladysmith during the 118-day siege. The plaque is on a gate post outside Whitehall (private) his former home on the Tollymore Road Image
