Warwick is a hill town: every way is down (or up). Saltisford drops steeply down from North Rock, continuing north-west and becoming Birmingham Road. The half-timbered house is one of the survivors of the fire of Warwick. The old heart of the town burnt down and was rebuilt in Georgian brick and stone.
