Looking east-northeast towards Sefton Street across Rosamond Street, of which only numbers 109-115 remain. The building with the yellow shop front on the right is 109 Rosamond Street (now the Vera Bushman sandwich shop). The rest of Rosamond Street disappeared under the new street plan for Sefton Street, Redbourne Street and Conway Close, where cheap modern housing was built between the late 1960s and the early 1980s as part of the city council's slum clearance and re-housing programme. The new houses replaced some of Hull's crumbling and tightly-packed terraced housing dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries, quite a lot of which was damaged or partly destroyed during air raids in World War Two.
