Sailing model yachts is a serious hobby in Shetland. Yachts with waterline length of about 60 cm are sailed by teams of two at different lochs in Shetland. Clubs compete throughout the winter. Here on Whalsay races were traditionally held on Christmas Day. This is the club building where model yachts are stored between races.
