The Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum, part of the Natural History Museum, is situated on the corner of Akeman Street and Park Street. This aspect of the large complex is of the old part of the museum which borders the very quiet cul-de-sac of Park Street. The part of the museum which is open to the public is housed in these splendid Victorian/Edwardian buildings, while the non-public research departments are in extensive modern buildings to the northeast.
