Looking north towards the level crossing from opposite No.283 Hawthorn Avenue, with the Shipham Valves factory and Nos. 267-275 on the right. The terraced houses at 267-299 Hawthorn Avenue have been earmarked by the city council for acquisition and demolition between now and 2011.
