This road, which is several hundred years old, ran across what was formerly Croydon Common. In the foreground, on the left, can be seen a variety of shops, cafés and a pub. On the distant horizon can be seen the television transmitters of Upper Norwood (ITV) and Crystal Palace (BBC).
