seen through the arch of the original A38 road overbridge (before it was widened and made a trunk route), the platforms of the once bustling Heathfield station are still plainly visible. Once a busy branch line junction, there is talk that the station may reopen as a commuter route in the future, due to the massive increase in housing and industry in the area.
