The Methodist Church (the smaller building on the left) was founded in 1877. The Rifle Hall (on the right) was originally built in 1792 as a theatre but remodelled as a drill hall in 1862. It was extended and refronted in 1892. It continued as a drill hall until 1930 and has since been used as a community hall. Grade II listed - see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1400605?section=official-list-entry.
