The Stour Valley Way is a designated footpath that follows almost all of the 64 mile course of this magnificent river. Here, between Shapwick and Sturminster Marshall can be found several 'let-downs', allowing the cattle to get a drink without being swept away. The extensive floodplain on the left, with lush grass, is good cattle country, better than Texas.
