Rickmansworth: Talbot Road

An old street name stone for Talbot Road has been incorporated into a new building at the junction of Talbot Road and Church Street, behind the photographer. It has the date 1863 which gives a reasonable time at which these Victorian semi-detached houses must have been built. If you look carefully there is an insurance fire-plate in the centre of the front wall of the first pair of houses, just below the gutter, while on the side wall is a small dark blue sign showing the way to Rickmansworth's old Police Station.
