In the foreground can be seen the parapets of the bridge which carried this track over the railway up to Crich Quarry. The track is a public footpath. The nearest housing is a relatively new development, and consists of two road, named Dowie Close and Hodder Close. These names honour two of the steam locomotives which used to run on the quarry railway. Dowie was named after the wife of the quarry manager at the time, whilst Hodder had previously worked as a contractor's locomotive on the Hodder Valley reservoir project and received the appropriate name after arriving at Crich.
