The plaque can be found inside the Guildhall. It commemorates the 14th post horse change of Lieutenant Lapenotiere on his journey from Falmouth to London with the news of the death of Nelson and the battle won at Trafalgar. I asked at the Guildhall why the plaque was actually in the hall and not at a coaching inn and was told it was because he delivered the message there first.
