The Old Library, having lasted for almost a hundred years, was converted to a Visitor Centre and cafe when a new, state of the art one was built at another location in The Hayes. This was pulled down after only around 15 to 20 years to make way for redevelopment. The latest new library is in the Hayes but, according to Mikel's Law of past experience this is destined to be removed, but in five to ten years; particularly as the building it is now in also contains a fast food centre!
