The subway under Leamington Spa station. The length is because the tunnel runs under both the former Great Western lines which are still in use today as part of Leamington's remaining station, and the former LNWR lines which ran through Leamington Spa Avenue Station on the line from Coventry via Leamington to Marton Junction and Rugby. The subway was constructed as part of the major reconstruction of Leamington Spa General Station by the GWR between 1936 and 1939 and replaced a long and inconvenient footbridge that used to span all the lines to the NW of the station.
