My wife's great grandparents lived in one of these cottages in the early part of the Twentieth Century, where they brought up nine children. Of their seven sons, two were killed in action on the Western Front in the Great War. The numbering of the cottages now appears to be somewhat haphazard, and the brightly coloured plastic front doors are at odds with the rest of the facade.
