This roundabout has always had this gap through the centre as a memorial to the tram tracks which pass through. When the entrance to Firth Park (out of the frame to the left) was re-vamped these decorative gates where added. When I was growing up around here in the 1960s there were two country-style five-bar gates here. The road ahead is Stubbins Lane, I was stood on Firth Park Road.
